Teach Like A Pirate Day

Last Friday, Pinewood celebrated Teach Like A Pirate Day. This day is based off of a book by Dave Burgess that inspires educators to increase student engagement, creativity, and teach something that you might not see in the classroom. It gives students a chance to choose what they are passionate about and let their creativity fly. They choose different sessions throughout the day from technology, cooking, reading, coloring, crafts, and games! Most students agree that this is the best day of the year. They love to work with new staff members, play with new Pinewood peers, and have fun. Students got to experience new things as well. The staff get creative with wearing pirate gear as well! We enjoyed another successful TLAP day!!
