PinewoodPride 2018-2019
The Pinewood Staff and I are excited for the start of the school year please share this video with your children to help get them excited as well.
We will have an end of summer popsicle party on Thursday August 16, 2018 from 6pm-7pm
Our Pinewood Open House is Thursday August 23, 2018 Kindergarten from 5:30pm-6:30pm and 1st-6th grade from 6pm-7pm
My goal is that sharing this back to school information each week will prevent having one back to school newsletter that is overwhelming. If you take just a few minutes each week this information will be helpful to you and your children as we prepare for our first day of school on Tuesday August 28, 2018. This week I have added transportation and lunch information.
Supply List:
Building Calendar and Daily Schedule
You can find our interactive calendar on our webpage, this is updated throughout the year and will keep you informed with all school wide events. Also on this page you will find our daily building schedule with start, end, and lunch times. Please just scroll down a bit on this link and you will find those helpful resources.
Building Tour
A wonderful group of students and staff created this great video a couple of years ago giving a tour of the building. Many students have found it helpful to watch as they start to prepare for the return to school, especially incoming kindergarten students and new students.
Food Service
Students are able to purchase breakfast and lunch at school each day. We ask that students bring a healthy snack to school to eat mid-morning to keep their energy up for learning. Please take a few minutes to review our food service website. If you have not applied for Free or Reduced Lunch before because your child usually packs a lunch or you are new to our school please take a few minutes to fill out the application. This information is totally confidential no one has access to your application within the district. Once a determination is made on if you qualify the only staff that are aware is our main food service worker and the building principal, no one else has access to the information. You can use the lunch app link on the website or we have paper copies in our building to fill out.
Transportation
As a parent I love the new transportation service called edulog, once you register it allows you to track your student’s bus in real time. It also lets you log in right now and see what the current pick up and drop off time schedule is. This may change as routes are moved around in August but if you are registered you can check anytime. If you need your child’s school ID number you can access it through powerschool or you can call Mrs. Schut in the Pinewood office when the office opens starting on August 6, 2018.
