Friday September 26 Kids Cats and Reading Celebration

We had a great day on Friday at Pinewood. Our Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade classes each had adopted a Jenison Varsity Football player to cheer on and support this season. On Friday the players visited each class and read to the students. Later that evening many Pinewood students and families attended the football game together and filled our section of the stands. It was a great way to support JHS and bring our Jenison community together.

On Friday we also celebrated our Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge. Our students helped Scholastic break a world record for reading. For our celebration we had a whole school recess. In addition to the recess one class from each grade level that had the most minutes read also received frozen Gogurts or apples. Our top reader received a pass to Craig’s Cruisers. Thank you to all of the students that participated.
