  1. it feels as though we have read nearly every interesting book in the 5th grade age range! I know we haven’t but I am wondering of anybody has any titles (or series) they would recommend (girl and boy.)

    • Hi Lisa,
Livi and I read The Girl Who Could Fly and LOVED it! I could barely put it down. I think both boys and girls would really like it. It is written at about a 5th grade level. (You should read it, too!) Let me know if you try it!

  2. Lisa have you tried The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman? It won a Newbery in 2009. It’s a fantasy, but there’s also a great mystery woven through the book and all the story threads tie up so well in the end. I really enjoyed it. I would say it appeals to boys but a lot of girls would love it too! I would recommend it to 4-6th graders.
